Natural is the everyday word for a brown wrapper that has not been pushed into maduro or dyed into candela. On a Padrón band it is the lighter of the two standard faces; the other is maduro. Other houses use “natural” the same way: the leaf’s ordinary cured color.
It is not a seed. Connecticut natural, Ecuador Sumatra, Nicaraguan habano, and Dominican leaf can all be sold as natural. The word is doing contrast work — natural versus maduro, or natural versus candela — not naming a farm.
If a page on this site says natural wrapper, it means that color choice, not “unprocessed.” All premium wrappers are cured and fermented.
