Candela wrappers are green on purpose. The leaf is cured with heat so it dries before the chlorophyll breaks down. The result is a pale jade to olive cover that used to be far more common on American-market cigars than it is now.
The process is the point. Candela is not a green variety of tobacco sitting in the field. It is a curing choice. Flavor is often described as grassy or fresh; treat those as common notes, not as a lab result.
Candela sits beside claro and maduro as a look you can spot from across the counter. It is a wrapper style, not a vitola.
