Toro is a modern shop size more than an old Havana mold name: extra length on a robusto ring, or extra ring on a corona length, depending on who is talking. Many New World lines treat 6 × 50 or 6 × 52 as the house toro.
More tobacco in the bunch means a longer smoke than a robusto and more filler relative to wrapper than a thin corona. Whether that is better is a preference, not a rule.
If a catalog says “toro” and the cigar is a torpedo, believe the photo. Names drift. Shape does not.
