Churchill

Wiki · Terms · Churchill

A Churchill is a long cigar. The Cuban factory size often cited is 7 inches by 47 ring gauge (Julieta No. 2 in the Cuban molding room). Magazines and New World houses stretch the name over nearby dimensions. Petit Churchill and wide Churchill are later shop variants; they borrow the name more than the original silhouette.

The size is named for Winston Churchill, whose Cuban smoking, especially Romeo y Julieta, made the association stick. When the band first said “Churchill” is disputed in the public record; this page does not invent a year.

It is a parejo. Time in the ashtray is the practical fact: a Churchill is an hour-plus smoke if you let it be.
