A torch burns a focused jet, usually butane. The point is control: toast the foot, then take the cigar into the flame just enough to light the filler without scorching the wrapper up the side. Soft-flame lighters still work. So does a wooden match, struck and let to settle. What you want is a clean fuel and a little patience.
Wind is why torches took over porches and golf carts. Triple-torch heads are a shop category, not a blending note.
Do not use a gasoline-scented utility lighter if you can help it. The cigar will keep that smell. Listings: lighters.
