A bunchero (also spelled bonchero) makes the bunch: the filler leaves arranged by the blend recipe and wrapped in a binder leaf. In many factories outside Cuba, the bunchero works in a team with a rolero, who applies the wrapper and the cap. In Cuban factories, one torcedor usually does both jobs.
The bunchero's work decides much of how a cigar draws and burns. An uneven or lumpy bunch causes a tight draw or soft spots that no wrapper can fix. Chapter: bunching and rolling by hand.
