CLE Cigar Company is the cigar business of Christian Eiroa in Danlí, Honduras. Eiroa was born in Danlí in 1972, the son of Julio Eiroa, and grew up on the family’s tobacco farm in the Jamastrán valley.
He went into the family business in 1995 and ran Camacho for the Eiroa family. In 2000 he launched the Camacho Corojo. When Davidoff bought Camacho in 2008, he stayed through the change of ownership and left in 2011. In July 2012 he started CLE.
CLE’s cigars are made in Danlí, in the Aladino factory, which opened in 2013 in the building of the old Cine Aladino, a movie theater opened in the 1970s by Eiroa’s grandfather, Antonio Kafati. Much of the tobacco comes from the family’s farms in the Jamastrán valley.
The company sells three brands. Eiroa is its most expensive line. CLE is the everyday line, made with Corojo, Habano, Connecticut, and, since 2025, Maduro wrappers. Asylum, a sister brand, is known for large, strong cigars; some Asylum lines have been made in Nicaragua. Strength runs from medium in the Connecticut to full in the Corojo.
