To retrohale is to let some of the smoke in your mouth pass out through your nose instead of your lips. The smoke is still not inhaled into the lungs. Because it passes the sense of smell, retrohaling brings out more of a cigar's aroma, and it also makes pepper and spice much more noticeable. It is optional. Start with a small amount of smoke, and be careful with full-strength cigars.
